National Laboratory for Advanced Data Research Data Technologies Science & Other Applications Programs (SOAP) SDSC/Cal-(IT)2 Synthesis Center

SYNTHESIS CENTER

The Synthesis Center is a collaboration space for scientists and engineers to come together for face-to-face sessions and directly address and solve complex multidisciplinary questions using cyberinfrastructure tools. The Synthesis Center, being developed in partnership with Cal-(IT)2, provides an online, on-demand environment with visualization, cluster computing systems and networks for doing computational science with IT expertise. Sessions may run for a day, a few days, or even a few weeks. Even with the availability of a variety of remote collaboration tools and technologies, real science still happens mainly in face-to-face meetings — which the Synthesis Center facilitates.

The Synthesis Center is managed by Linda Ferri.
More information about the synthesis center can be found at http://www.syncenter.org/ .
